Cold Weather Tips

These are important tips that you can use if you are the weather worrier traveler.

  • Keep your head and ears covered and remove metal earrings and jewelry.
  • Pack a face mask or neck gaiter to cover up over your mouth and/or nose.
  • Your face should be protected.Carry moisturizer to provide protection from the wind.
  • When trekking or traveling in cold climates, if you have an aluminum water bottle, try filling it with hot water. It makes for a very comforting hot water bottle to keep your toes toasty at night.
  • If its cold and your camera isn’t working, it could just be the batteries…so take them out of the camera, rub them between your hands (just as if you’re warming them), and put them back in the camera…that might fix the problem.
  • Pack a couple of 100% cotton T-shirts. They’re breathable, warm and flexible – great for layering - and they can double as nightshirts.
