Blackpool Hotel, Bed & Breakfast or Cheap Weekend Break in Blackpool

Whether you are selecting a Blackpool hotel or a Blackpool Bed and Breakfast, taking a weekend break in Blackpool is a wonderful experience. Blackpool is a seaside town in the North –West of England and is traditionally a part of Lancashire. Blackpool apparently gets its name from the drainage channel (now gone) that ran over a peat bog.

This created black water from the peat as it ran into the bog, giving the town its name. Heavily dependant on tourism, Blackpool boasts many areas that cater to the tourists and many hotels and bed and breakfast options that offer comfort and style to any visitor.

A B & B Blackpool, otherwise known as a Blackpool Bed and Breakfast, is one of the most popular options because of its quaintness in relation to a traditional Blackpool hotel stay. It can be comforting to stay in a small villa or small cottage-style facility and partake in some of the local trappings of a town like Blackpool.

Many people prefer this option because it makes them feel at home while being on vacation, giving them the perfect combination of comfortable familiarity and a different flavour. Blackpool offers many cheap options on the traditional B & B offerings, as well, which is especially attractive to North American tourists.

Some people head to Blackpool merely for a weekend break and take in all that the town has to offer before heading back to their normal lives in the bigger cities around the UK. Blackpool includes three piers (North, Central, and South) which are popular attractions with out-of-towners.

There is also the Blackpool Tower, which is a copy of the Eiffel Tower and the Blackpool Pleasure Beach Amusement park which is popular with families, especially because of the Pepsi Max Big One roller coaster. Until 2002, Blackpool boasted the tallest coaster in Europe.
